How Reels appear in Google
Public Reels at instagram.com/reel/... can be indexed by Google. Searching site:instagram.com/reel/ keyword surfaces video pages with captions and hashtags.
Instagram Search Engine's Reels filter builds this query automatically when you enter a topic.
Using the Reels filter
On the home page, select Reels, type your keyword (e.g. recipes, workout, travel), and press Search. Results open in Google with the dork pre-filled.
Combine with profile lookup: find a creator on /profiles, then search Reels with their niche keywords.
Advanced Reels dorks
site:instagram.com/reel/ "exact phrase" — narrow to specific captions. Add location or brand names for campaign research.
Reels SEO changes frequently; not every video is indexed. Trending audio and hashtags may require in-app discovery.
Limits
We do not embed or download Reels video files. Playback happens on instagram.com after you click through. Private accounts' Reels are not searchable.
