- The journey of contributing to the global veterinary profession has never really been about applause or rewards for me. It has always been about passion for growth, for impact, and for showing up where help is needed, in service of something bigger than myself.
Being able to give my time, strength, ideas, and dedication in any capacity has always been a privilege I don’t take lightly.
Earlier this week, I was invited to the 2026 World Veterinary Day celebration by the NVMA Benue State Chapter, where I was honoured with a Distinguished Award of Honour in recognition of my contributions to the veterinary profession and for being a positive ambassador of veterinarians from Benue State, Nigeria.
This means a lot to me, not just as a title, but as motivation to keep doing more. It reminds me that purpose leaves footprints, and that genuine service always speaks for itself.
More than anything, this recognition challenges me to keep pushing—to contribute more meaningfully, serve more selflessly, and continue striving for excellence. It’s a call to greater responsibility.
I sincerely appreciate the organizers and leadership of the World Veterinary Day celebration and the NVMA Benue State Chapter for this recognition. I receive it with humility and dedicate it to everyone working quietly behind the scenes to move our profession forward.
To every young professional out there: hard work may go unnoticed for a while, but it’s never wasted. In time, it gets recognized—and when it does, it pushes you to do even more.
Thank you, NVMA Benue State Chapter.
And once again, Happy World Veterinary Day to all veterinarians making impact.
