- In oranje.
Alle dagen buiten voetballen tot het donker werd. De wedstrijden samen met m’n hele familie voor de tv. Alle momenten waarop het hele land oranje kleurt.
Een dag als vandaag, waarop je wordt opgeroepen om Nederland op een WK te vertegenwoordigen, brengt me terug naar vroeger. Naar het jongetje dat vanuit z’n slaapkamer alleen maar kon dromen van profvoetballer worden. Soms is het belangrijk om stil te staan bij waar je vandaan komt, want dat kleine jongetje zit nog altijd in mij.
Dat ik deze droom nu opnieuw mag beleven met deze groep jongens, maakt me trots. Op naar een mooie Oranje zomer, waarin we alles gaan geven om ons land trots te maken 🇳🇱🦁

- As a kid, I dreamed of one day playing for FC Barcelona. That I’m now the Dutch player with the most appearances for this club makes me proud.
Barça and the Netherlands always had a special connection, with great Dutch players walking this path before me.
Been here for some years and still it only feels like the beginning. On to more matches in this jersey, more dreams coming true, unforgettable moments, and trophies with this special club, our club.
