Caption: ✨ Hi, I’m Marissa - let me reintroduce myself ✨ To everyone who has been around for a while — and to those who are new here, hello 👋🏼 I’m a Counsellor, Research Psychologist and Speaker, passionate about helping people understand their emotions, their brain 🧠, and how to navigate the beautifully complex experience of being human. Before this chapter of my life, I was a television presenter in Indonesia, starting out as an MTV VJ and going on to host an infotainment program for over a decade. I’ve acted in movies and soap operas, and emceed everything from government forums to fashion extravaganzas. These days, my work looks a little different. ✨ What I do as a Therapist and Coach: 🧠 I support individuals and couples through emotional healing and wellbeing, personal growth development, complex emotions and relationships 🗣️ I coach people to speak with presence, confidence, and clarity: from everyday conversations to keynote stages 🏫 I speak and train with companies to make emotional intelligence practical, relatable, and effective 🎤 I speak on topics such as emotional resilience, brain performance, EQ leadership,mental and emotional wellbeing, conscious parenting 🎤 I still emcee and host events too! Caption: I had the honour of hosting Raffles Family Office ‘s first Fashionpreneur Talk with the remarkable Ibu Novita Yunus, where our conversation moved from entrepreneurship to Indonesia’s rich heritage of batik, not just as fabric, but as memory, as craftsmanship, as a thread connecting generations. What stayed with me most is that batik is so much more than design. It is identity passed by hand, where every motif carries the fingerprints of those who came before us and the responsibility to honour those who will come after. In a world racing forward, there is something deeply grounding about returning to where we come from. Preserving our cultural roots is not nostalgia; it is a legacy in motion, a way of remembering that we do not create in isolation but as part of a much longer story. Thank you to @hellolaurenho for organising and having me! 💛

Caption: The "life in reverse" mindset is actually the ultimate hack for our mental health. Often, our brains get trapped in a stressful cycle of chasing: happiness, validation, or control, which only leads to anxiety and burnout because we are fighting reality. When we reverse our approach and learn to embrace things like loneliness, vulnerability, or letting go, we stop resisting our emotions and instead give them space to breathe. This shifts our brain from a defensive, stressed state into a place of true peace, showing us that emotional freedom never comes from forcing the outside world to change, but from quietly transforming how we treat ourselves from within. Caption: Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible women doing their best every single day. ✨ I often find myself watching them sleep, thinking about how fast these days are slipping through my fingers. I used to focus so much on getting everything "right," but now I realize that the best thing I can give my child is a happy, present version of myself. When we find joy in the little things, they feel that light, too. Some days are honestly exhausting and the house is a mess, but then they’ll reach out for a hug or tell a silly joke, and my heart just melts. It’s in those messy, unscripted moments that the best memories are made. I’ve stopped worrying about being perfect and started focusing on just being there, soaking up every giggle and messy kiss while I can. In the end, the toys will be put away and the house will be quiet. But the bond we build today will last forever. I want to look back and know that I didn't just "get through" the day, but that I actually lived it with them. These small moments might feel tiny now, but I know they are everything.
